The inspiration for the original was the "great International Exhibition," which took place in France in 1867. It wasn't lost on me that the skeleton front and center is using the paper cutters of my elementary school days to behead another skeleton. Satan seems pleased, touched at the gesture. He really does feel seen sometimes.
This piece was hand-drawn using Micron pens and colored with alcohol ink markers. Each archival-quality giclée print is produced locally by a small business right here in Western Massachusetts. This artwork is available exclusively as a full-size 9 × 12-inch reproduction of the original.
